As expected, the pandemic last year had a very disastrous effect on employment opportunities all over the world. India was also struck with an increased amount of unemployed population. One of the worst-hit cases was Karnataka and that too especially the medical staff.
Getting concerned about the alarming situation of lack of job opportunities for the nurses, the State Government took a decision yesterday. And the decision is to send around 1000 nurses to Britain. There, an annual salary of Rs. 20 lakh have been promised by the nation’s government to these professionally-trained nurses. This is as a result of an agreement of India’s Department of Skill Development with National Health Services and Health Education England (HEE).
These nurses would receive vigorous training under Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Developmental Corporation (KVTSDC). The International Immigration Center of Britain would be responsible for all sorts of grievances if these nurses. They’d receive all sorts of technical support and guidance.
If this move is successful in creating new job opportunities in the medical sector of Karnataka, then the problem of unemployment can be solved, even though temporarily.
